Haul and Nail Mail

Well, I went out searching for Sally Hansen's Pumpkin Spice again yesterday. Of course, couldn't find it anywhere. I don't know if nowhere around here has it yet, or if I missed it. Whatever the case may be, I want it bad. Also, was looking for Milani Baked Blush, but couldn't find that, either. CVS has Milani products, but not the Baked Blush. Anyways, onto all the stuff I bought instead....

Nail Mail & NOTD Crackle

Today I recieved my Barielle order of Positive Zen-ergy ("A warm, mossy green with silver shimmer") and Welcome OHM ("Warm creme plum").

Well, I started painting my nails with Welcome OHM. As soon as I started, I knew it was going to be all bad. The lighting in the room was bad, so I ended up with an uneven first coat. Then, my daughter had an 'accident' (we are potty training), so in taking care of that, I smudged and chipped my polish all up. I figured it was the perfect opportunity to use my new crackle's as well! :)

I freaking love it! lol. I used Max 2012's black crackle called Eternity. I have never used a shatter or crackle polish before, so I had no idea what to expect. It smelled awful and dried super fast. Most my nails got really good cracks, though. My left hand index finger didn't crack so well, but I was still getting the hang of how to apply it quickly because it dries so quick that if you miss a spot and try to go back over it, it kinda messes the whole thing all up. My thumbs cracked really well and my pinkies both kind of did just one big crack down the middle.

I love how the crackle dried matte in contrast to the shiny finish of the purple. I wish my pictures could have captured that better. I don't want to put a top coat on and ruin that look. Definitely am going to look into getting some matte polishes after this. Also, I love the black and purple together. It reminds me of Halloween!

I have never used crackles before, so I am so excited to use them! And I have seen some cool things done with them on other blogs, so I want to try a few different things out.

Sorry about the lack of actual polish posts, but I was pretty busy the past two days and then I am having problems with my polish. No matter what brand that I put on, how many layers, wet or dry, whatever...Less than 12 hours after I put my polish on, it all starts peeling off in sheets. Like, I will do my nails before I go to bed and half way through the next day, the corners start peeling up and I can pull the whole polish off. It's really frustrating. I am wondering if it has to do with my nails, but the first few times I painted them I didn't have this problem. I am trying to think if there was anything I was doing differently, but I don't think so. The only thing I can think of is that I started using a different kind of polish remover and maybe that it is making it hard for my polish to bond to my nails. I am going to pick up something different here soon and see if that helps because it's really irritating especially when it's a color that I like!

Nail Mail: Barielle

I got my two Barielle polishes yesterday. Gotta Have Fate, which is a orange-y coral shade. I asked my boyfriend if it looked more pink or orange to him and I think I boggled his mind. He said it was red. lol.

I also got Do Unto Others, a blue/teal color.

Haven't had time to swatch these, yet, but I will today or tomorrow.

I'm also anxiously awaiting my Touring Collection to arrive. That will probably be today or tomorrow as well. I'm so excited. lol.

Nail Mail: OPI

I got two OPI's today. Unfortunately, I don't have anywhere really close by here that sells OPI and all the salons charge an arm and a leg for them, so I just go through Amazon. I usually get a bottle for around 7 bucks and alot of times it ends up being less if I get more than one.

Anyways, today I got Planks A Lot, which is a lilac/light purple color (I realized that I now have about 4 of these that look very similar...maybe a comparison coming up soon) and also Banana Bandanna, a light yellow color.
